Ceramicist Laura Cooke and painter Eva Magil-Oliver have come together once again to create a unique set of dishes. In the studio together, Laura throws the plates on the potters' wheel while Eva cuts out shapes and arranges them on the flat surface. The pair then chooses a color and pours a tinted slip over the cutouts on the clay. Each dish has its own design and personality - some designs stand out boldly from their background, while others subtly blend.
These plates are perfect for serving yourself and your guests and also look beautiful hanging on a wall as decoration. Hand-thrown porcelain. Stencils and colored slips. Stackable.
We are excited to be collaborating with Eva Magill-Oliver, an Atlanta based multi media artist. We are big believers in qualitative pieces designed for everyday life and this philosophy has connected us with Eva whose abstracts are perfect examples of the intersection of our physical surroundings and self-awareness. In her own words she expresses "I love to explore the movements, patterns, and connections found in the natural world. I am in awe of nature's subtle variations and how they flow and influence one another." We hope that you love this collection as much as we do.
Eva had been working uniquely on paper for several years, but has expanded her work to include oil/acrylic abstract paintings on canvas recently and this time, on mulberry silks. Eva is represented by a number of galleries nationally and you can find her work featured in several online boutiques and publications.
